The history of Crete from prehistoric times to the present day in the eastern Mediterranean world — the subject of the Cretan Congresses,— has always been a setting of cultural conflicts that led to confrontations but also fusions. The topic of the 14th International Cretan Congress focuses precisely on this field of cultural contact and osmosis, aiming to bring the researchers of various periods of Cretan history together to examine and discuss their various approaches in a synthetic manner
